STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014\u00a0Rodeo fans in the \u201cCowboy Capital\u201d can enjoy three days of high-energy college rodeo April 22-24 when the 55th annual Tarleton Stampede comes to Lone Star Arena in Stephenville.<\/p>\n

The season finale for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association\u2019s Southwest Region determines which cowboys and cowgirls earn a trip to the College National Finals Rodeo in June in Casper, Wyo.<\/p>\n

Seventeen colleges from across the Southwest will compete in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.<\/p>\n

Award-winning announcers Ben Clements and Ferron Lucero will call the action, and Mitch Terrell\u2019s TNT Rodeo Co. serves as stock contractor.<\/p>\n

Tarleton\u2019s men\u2019s team enters the weekend in third place in the regional standings, while the women are in fourth.<\/p>\n

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with slack slated for 8:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

Admission is $10 per day for adults; weekend passes are $20. Tarleton students get in free with their university ID. Children 12 and under are free. Buy tickets at the gate at Lone Star Arena, 4696 U.S. Highway 377 N.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
