STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University and the Texan Battalion Army ROTC program will host the Ranger Challenge Competition for Task Force Tomahawk on Oct. 22-23.<\/p>\n
Called the varsity sport of Army ROTC, the Ranger Challenge focuses on basic and advanced soldier skills. Teams participate in multiple rigorous events from land navigation to marksmanship.<\/p>\n
Student-cadets from 11 universities will compete over the two days on a non-tactical course.\u00a0The mission is to challenge their mental and physical toughness and to develop leadership while fostering teamwork and\u00a0esprit de corps<\/em>.<\/p>\n Task Force Tomahawk consists of Baylor University, Prairie View A&M University, Stephen F.
