STEPHENVILLE, Texas — A full slate of activities, highlighted by Lead with Love: A Valentine’s Day Fireside Chat, is on tap in celebration of Black History Month at Tarleton State University.
University President James and First Lady Kindall Hurley will join MW Logistics CEO Mitchell Ward and CPO Pamela Wills-Ward in sharing their secrets of success leading in love, leading from love and leading with love.
The event is set for 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville and is sponsored by the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Tarleton; the Lance Zimmerman Department of Student Involvement, Tradition, Spirit and Family Relations; and Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.

Mitchell Ward, a passionate advocate for giving to others, supports numerous area organizations, including Dallas Life, The Family Place and the Paul Quinn College Initiative. In November 2020, MW Cares — the philanthropic arm of MW Logistics — brought together organizations, businesses and the North Texas Food Bank to deliver the largest food give-away in this part of the state, feeding over 60,000 families.
Ward graduated from Texas State University in 1989 with a degree in education. He is a lifetime member of the Texas State Alumni Association and a member of the Touchdown Team (he holds a “T” Association letter), and he serves on Texas State’s Alumni Board of Directors. He is the Dallas chair of the Bobcat Club Leadership Council and received the Alumni Achievement Award in 2008.
In 2020 he started American Black Rhino to market sanitation programs and products to schools and businesses.
As Chief People & Strategy Officer at MW Logistics, Pamela Wills-Ward brings over 20 years’ experience as a global human resources executive. A graduate of Texas State, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s in business administration. She also graduated from the Stanford Executive Program offered by the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
