Tarleton State University Intercollegiate Meat Judging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meat judging was initiated at Tarleton State University in 1981. Tarleton Meat Judging aids in the networking of students with industry professionals and for possibilities related to learning, research, and potential employment within production agriculture. Prior experience is not required for students interested in participating on the team. The training period begins in the fall, by enrolling in ANSC 2308 (Meat and Carcass Evaluation), prior to the subsequent spring and fall judging semesters. In this course, students will learn the basics of meat evaluation, while adhering to a strict and rigorous practice schedule in preparation for a successful judging season. Through meat judging experiences students develop teamwork, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
