About Us

The Department of Request Marketing ProjectMarketing & Communications develops marketing strategies and tactics to build awareness and create interest in Tarleton. As part of a planned branding and marketing program, the office also integrates marketing and communications strategies for individual colleges, departments, and programs. We create and implement marketing and advertising plans, including purchasing media for the university and individual unit campaigns. We design advertising/marketing projects and work with you on placing materials for maximum impact with the target audience. We ensure that messages both reflect the university’s overall marketing strategies and are effective in reaching Tarleton constituencies.


Marketing Units

Creative Services

From brochures and pamphlets to journals and anthologies, the Office of Creative Services produces publications and marketing materials for the university, from invitations and programs to brochures, pamphlets, and magazines. Creative Services also provides the graphic design for banners and signs and oversees the purchase of all university marketing merchandise. We transform your text and visuals into professionally designed print and electronic materials and provide photographic services to create attractive and effective visuals. We assist in the competitive bid print purchasing process and provide direction for presenting your message in print. We also manage the university’s licensing program, ensuring the protection and appropriate use of university logos and trademarks.

News & Information

The Office of News & Information focuses on telling the Tarleton story to internal and external audiences through news releases, media pitches, social media, video, web postings, an experts list and managing media interview requests. Our goal is to showcase Tarleton and to inform local, state and national audiences about our outstanding faculty and educational programs, innovative research, and significant public events. In addition to maintaining the university’s official social media accounts, we assist in creating and guiding departmental social media accounts. Additionally, we oversee the university’s internal Enewsletter, Tarleton Today, and work with departments on effective use of digital signage. Our video team promotes Tarleton by developing scripts and storyboards and capturing video footage from interviews, events, and activities, to create a finished video. We facilitate the streaming of select events to the internet. Completed videos reside on the university’s YouTube site, web site, and social media.

Web Strategy

University Web Strategy creates and maintains the design, infrastructure, and marketing strategy for the university website. The Web team uses Cascade Server as the university’s web content management system and provides full Cascade support, as well as individual training sessions. A major initiative is to make the university web pages responsive that automatically adjusts the content and look to best fit the user’s device – cell phone, tablet, laptop or computer/monitor. We also maintain the online Campus Map and Calendar. We consult with departments and organizations to enhance their web presence or construct a new site. Our mission is to support the goals of the university by providing an informative and inviting web presence to prospective students as well as current students, faculty and staff, and the general public.
