As a thank-you for all you do for Tarleton State, employees and their families are invited to enjoy complimentary Self-Drive admission for up to five people, valid for one visit per employee, on any day between May 9-17, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park entrance is open between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm every day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All guests must exit the park by 6:30 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help manage traffic, Fossil Rim limits the number of vehicles entering the park each hour. During busy times, you may be asked to wait for the next available entry window. For details on vehicle guidelines, please visit fossilrim.org\/road-rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most guests spend about two hours on the self-guided drive. You\u2019re also welcome to spend additional time at the Overlook, located midway through the route, where you\u2019ll find the Nature Store, Caf\u00e9, Animal Discoveries, Conservation Investigations, and scenic trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enter at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center’s main entrance located at 2299 County Road 2008, Glen Rose, TX 76043.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Park and walk into the Admissions building.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Present your Tarleton State University ID. Staff will record your name, Tarleton email address, and the last four digits of your employee ID (if available)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You will receive a ticket for your family’s self-guided tour<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Return to your vehicle and drive to the Check-In building at the corner of the parking lot. Present your ticket, and staff will provide a bag of animal feed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
