Step 2: Choose your mark<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Student organizations that need assistance creating a design should contact a licensed vendor<\/a> or Student Engagement & Success Marketing. Direct logo and design questions should be directed to licensing@tarleton.edu<\/a>. All logos bearing the Tarleton name\/image\/likeness must follow our Branding Guidelines<\/a>. For assistance with student organization logo use, contact Grace Lampo at clampo@tarleton.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Club Sports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to ordering items, Tarleton State club sports teams must contact the Club Sports Coordinator for approval. Policies regarding logo use can be found in the Branding Guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Club sports teams that have an NCAA counterpart must use \u201cClub\u201d or something similar on all items, including but not limited to jerseys, promotional pieces, travel gear and marketing, advertising and social media accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RSO Name Guidelines<\/h3><\/div>

Student Organization Identity Guidelines<\/strong>
Student organizations are able to identify with Tarleton State University subject to the following guidelines:
\u2022 The student organization has RSO status. The RSO should not be confused with a university department, program or initiative; and
\u2022 The student organization identity does not interfere with the integrity of Tarleton State University\u2019s trademarks or intellectual property<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Organization Names<\/strong>
Registered student organizations including club sports may use the Tarleton State name so long as there is a distinction demonstrating the group\u2019s status as a separate entity from Tarleton State University. The name must identify the organization as a student-based organization, and not a Tarleton State University department, program or initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An RSO may choose one of the following:<\/strong>
\u2022 Include \u201cat Tarleton State\u201d after the name (e.g. Chess at Tarleton State)
\u2022 Include \u201cClub,\u201d \u201cStudents for \u2026,\u201d \u201cChapter,\u201d \u201cAssociation,\u201d \u201cSociety,\u201d \u201cFraternity,\u201d \u201cSorority\u201d or \u201cOrganization (e.g., Tarleton State Chess Club, Tarleton State Student Gymnastics, Tarleton State Archery Society) NOTE: “Tarleton State” is preferred over “Tarleton” if there is space to do so<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of the Word \u201cTeam\u201d<\/strong>
To prevent giving the false impression that Tarleton State has officially launched a particular athletics program, \u201cTeam\u201d can only be included in the name if there is no NCAA equivalent. If there is, \u201cClub\u201d or another separating word must be used in place of or in conjunction with \u201cTeam.\u201d Email bural@tarleton.edu to confirm if a sport or event is NCAA-sanctioned. Send the confirmation to licensing@tarleton.edu.
\u2022 e.g., NCAA: Tarleton State Women\u2019s Soccer Club, Tarleton State Club Tennis, Tarleton State Lacrosse Club Team
\u2022 e.g., not NCAA: Tarleton State Rodeo Team, Tarleton State Meats Judging Team<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of the Word \u201cTexan(s)\u201d<\/strong>
Student organizations may use the word \u201cTexan(s)\u201d in their organization name, but it may not be formed in a way that could be construed that the university has taken an official position. Neither Tarleton State nor Texan(s) can be used in a sweeping way to suggest that all Tarleton State students\/employees partake or agree.
\u2022 Acceptable: Texan Republican Club, Texan Knitting Organization
\u2022 NOT Acceptable: Texans for (political candidate), Knitting Texans<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recreation Sports Names<\/strong>
If a Rec Sports team opts not to use \u201cat Tarleton State\u201d or a separating word like \u201cClub,\u201d or \u201cIntramural,\u201d they are permitted to use \u201cTexan\u201d before their sport name.
\u2022 e.g., Texan Ultimate Frisbee, Texan Flag Football<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All names must be approved by the Office of Licensing and Trademarks. Abuse of this policy (e.g. poor representation of Tarleton State University, and\/or failure to follow branding guidelines and policy in obtaining permission to use university marks) could result in disciplinary action and removal of \u201cTarleton\u201d or \u201cTexan(s)\u201d from club name.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Obtain an art proof from the licensed vendor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Have the licensed vendor provide you with a .jpg, .png or .pdf version of the design in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Submit your merchandise request form with art proof<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 5: Receive approval from Licensing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Forms will be reviewed within 48 hours. Allow at least a week to start on an apparel\/merchandise project so a vendor can price, source and decorate items. Contact your group\u2019s adviser for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6: Order merchandise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An approved merchandise request is the green light to order.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
