Tarleton State University is steeped in tradition, and its name and logos represent the passion of alumni, students, faculty and fans. As a school rich in history, it is important to protect the integrity of the marks, names and logos that represent our institution.

All on- and off- campus individuals, groups and organizations must receive written approval from the the Office of Trademarks and Licensing in the Division of Institutional Advancement prior to the use of any Tarleton State University marks, names and logos.

Primary functions of the Office of Trademarks and Licensing are:

  • Protect the reputation of the university by ensuring that only approved representations of its brand appears before the public, and that goods bearing these marks are of approved quality.
  • Promote the university's brand in a consistent manner through the use of officially licensed vendors and quality products. Licensed products bearing logos and graphics that suggest quality and excellence play a major role in recruiting students and faculty, garnering alumni support and establishing a distinction among schools.
  • Generate revenue through the sale of officially licensed merchandise. Revenue benefits various campus initiatives.
