Biography

Dr. Fei Luo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Victim Studies at Sam Houston State University. Her research focuses on victimization among marginalized and vulnerable populations, including immigrants, migrants, women, racial and ethnic minorities, and members of the LGBTQ community. Much of her work explores intimate partner violence, childhood victimization, and the cultural and structural factors that influence both victimization and mental health outcomes.

Dr. Luo also conducts research on policing, immigration and crime, and the ways marginalized communities engage with the criminal justice system. Her work has received recognition such as the Outstanding Article Award from the Journal of Ethnicity in Criminal Justice. She employs advanced quantitative and mixed methods approaches in her work, and her research appears in journals such as Race and Justice, Journal of Crime and Justice, American Journal of Criminal Justice, and Policing: An International Journal.
