Immigration Check-In

The Department of Homeland Security requires Tarleton State University to report your arrival to campus.

The immigration check-in is mandatory for all new international students. Failure to report to an International Student Advisor may result in termination of your F-1 student status. 

Stephenville students must report directly to the International Office as soon as they arrive to campus to complete their immigration check-in. The International Office is located in room 21 at the lower level of the Thompson Student Center.

Fort Worth students must report during the mandatory meeting for international students. Check-in will take place at that same time. See below for details.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CHECK-IN
  • Current Passport
  • Current F-1 or J-1 visa
  • Printed I-94 document. You can access this document at the following link: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search 
  • Tarleton State Form I-20 or DS-2019
  • Form I-20 or DS-2019 of your dependents (spouse and children) if applicable.
  • I-20s from any previous institutions you attended
  • Current U.S. Address

MANDATORY MEETING FOR NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (SPRING 2018)

The mandatory meeting will introduce you to Tarleton State University, allow you to meet new students, and provide you with information on relevant topics such as:

  • Immigration Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Academic Expectations
  • Health insurance
  • Tax Obligations for International Students
  • Campus Resources and Services
  • Cultural Adjustment Resources
