International Flag Carriers

Flag Carriers Summer 2016

Tarleton is committed to being a globally-oriented university that welcomes students from a wide range of ethnicities, religions, cultures and life experiences. In celebration of Tarleton's community of international students, we proudly present the flags of their home countries at each commencement ceremony. Currently, we have students from 26 countries around the world.

The Office of International Programs is looking for flag carriers to participate in the upcoming Summer 2017's Commencement Ceremonies taking place on Friday, August 11.  All graduating students' countries of citizenship will be represented in a colorful procession of flags that celebrates the diversity of our student body. Ceremonies will take place at the following times:

Friday, August 11

1:00 PM

  • College of Science and Technology
  • College of Health Sciences & Human Services
  • College of Education
  • College of Liberal and Fine Arts

4:00 PM

  • You do not have to stay for the entire length of the ceremony; however, all volunteers will have access to the ceremony they sign up for. If you choose not to stay, we will only need your help for about 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
  • Graduating students are not allowed to participate in the flag parade
  • Sign up is managed in a first-come, first-served basis
  • There will be an 1-hour rehearsal on Thursday, August 10 in the lower level of the Wisdom Gym at 1:30 PM. Please make an effort to attend in case you have not carried a flag before.
