What is SmartEvals?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Gap SmartEvals is an online student course evaluation system in which students are given the opportunity to provide instructors anonymous feedback to help improve their courses. This system replaces SurveyDig and provides many updated features including automated email reminders, a modern user-interface with responsive formatting, and the ability to benchmark results to other universities nationally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Are the results truly anonymous?<\/h3><\/div>

YES! We understand that students might be concerned with the anonymity of their feedback, but rest assured the responses are completely anonymous to both instructors and administrators. Additionally, classes with less than 3 students are not given the opportunity to be evaluated.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How often will I receive emails?<\/h3><\/div>

Generally, you will receive 3-5 emails depending on the length of the class you are enrolled. Shorter courses during the summer might only receive 3 email reminders while full 16-weeks courses can receive up to 5. Once you have completed all of your evaluations you will no longer receive email reminders for that semester.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Can I opt out of receiving email reminders?<\/h3><\/div>

No. While we understand some students might not want to evaluate their courses, we are required by law to give students the opportunity to provide important feedback to their instructors. Please disregard the emails if you prefer not to provide feedback.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What if one of my classes is not showing up?<\/h3><\/div>

This could be due to a number of things including classes with less than 3 students enrolled, 0 credit hour classes (labs), or a technical glitch. Please email gapsmarteval@tarleton.edu<\/a> with any questions\/issues.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Will I no longer use DuckTrax to evaluate my course?<\/h3><\/div>

This new system provides the ability for students to be automatically emailed with direct links to the SmartEvals system and their courses. Students will no longer go through DuckTrax to evaluate courses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How long are the evaluation periods open?<\/h3><\/div>

8, 12, and 16-weeks courses are open for evaluation the 10 days prior to the end of the course. Shorter 3, 4, and 6-weeks courses open for evaluation the 5 days prior to the end of the course.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
