Tarleton Academic Colleges Earn Scholarships for Giving Day Totals <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton State University raised $301,461 from\u00a0a record\u00a0746 donors on its fifth annual Giving Day, April\u00a014, in support of\u00a0research, student learning and scholarships.\u00a0The\u00a0amount\u00a0included\u00a0impressive numbers that, for the first time, garnered some university organizations recognition\u00a0for their efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Science and Technology raised the most money, $36,358.25, and the College of Education drew the most donors, 159. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each will receive five $1,000 Charlotte Han Sharp scholarships, named for the late wife of Texas A&M University Chancellor John Sharp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton Student Affairs won the award for most money collected \u2014 $80,973.99. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giving Day continues to gain traction among alumni and friends. The partnership with hundreds of individuals, foundations and corporations has united Tarleton Texans to support causes that enhance regional quality of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot only were we blessed with the generous support of so many alumni and friends,\u201d said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr. Gabe Cagwin, \u201cbut we also had a tremendous response from our faculty and staff. Every day they give selflessly to provide our students with a first-class experience while on our campuses, in addition to sharing their time and talents.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the 24-hour online fundraising challenge started four years ago, university alumni, faculty, staff and friends have given more than $1.56 million to Tarleton colleges, programs, scholarships and activities. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
