March 25, 2020: COVID-19 Updates for Tarleton-Fort Worth: Chisholm Trail and R.C. Schaffer Buildings

Dear Tarleton-Fort Worth Family,

Tarleton State University-Fort Worth will remain open to students, faculty and staff as we continue to respond to the COVID pandemic. Today, a memo from Governor Abbott’s Office clarified that all state universities are exempt from local stay-at-home directives, meaning we are permitted to remain open and operational — even during the City of Fort Worth’s “stay home, work safe” order that went into effect just before midnight Tuesday. We will continue to operate with essential employees only and virtually serve students.

As a reminder, all classes will continue to be delivered online through semester’s end. To continue to provide essential services and accommodate the hours for the library and the computer lab, the building will remain open as outlined below.

Building Hours of Operation:

  • Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Closed Saturday and Sunday

In an effort to meet the technology needs of our students, we are providing access to computers in the Rickett Library and in rooms 130, 301, and 302. WiFi is also available in the parking lot for those who choose to remain in their vehicle to connect to the internet. The hours of operation are listed below.

Rickett Library Hours:

  • Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Computer lab/room 130, 301, 302:

  • Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Counseling Center Hours

  • Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and by appointment until 8 p.m.

The café will remain closed until further notice.

The fitness center is closed until further notice.

Please remember that we need to continue to maintain social distancing while in the building. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this together.
