Financial aid will disburse to student billing statements 10 days before the first day of classes each semester. If you are due a refund (financial aid is more than billing statement), this will be issued to you by the Business Office via BankMobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQ<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Once financial aid is disbursed and appears on your tuition statement, you may have some questions about your next steps. We are here to answer all of your questions and assist you through this process. Please note that response times may be delayed during peak times of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Aid &amp; Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-f982d60a\">You can check the status of your Financial Aid and Scholarships on your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/mygateway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>DuckTrax account<\/strong><\/a>. It could be that your aid did not disburse due to an outstanding action on your FAFSA application. Check your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/registrar\/students\/mygateway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>MyGateway\/Ducktrax<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;financial aid status to see if you have an outstanding \u201cto do\u201d. This could be FAFSA Verification, a missing signature, missing loan requirements, a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-3c64213d\">Disbursement of financial aid and scholarships to student bills will begin 10 days before the first day of classes each semester and the scholarship will pay as a credit toward your bill. If you are due a refund (financial aid is more than billing statement), this will be issued to you by the Business Office via BankMobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-61c870af\">Students are only notified if they are selected as a scholarship recipient since the scholarship application is good for the entire academic year. If selected as a recipient, you will receive an email to log into the scholarship portal to view, accept\/decline awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-3e73e633\">Your private scholarship will show on your financial aid screen in MyGateway under financial award status. Learn how to check your private award status and find instructions on identifying the donor on our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/scholarships\/private-award-status\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Private Award Status<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-8921049b\">If you would like to inquire about any alternative\/private loans you can visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elmselect.com\/v4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>www.elmselect.com<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to find what is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-bb18bfeb\">If you would like to inquire about the Parent PLUS Loan, your parent can find out more information and apply on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/plus-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Federal Student Aid website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The FAFSA and TASFA use prior-prior-year tax data to determine the Student Aid Index (SAI); however, we recognize that a family\u2019s financial situation can change within a two-year period. The Higher Education Act gives financial aid administrators the ability to update the FAFSA to reflect the student and family\u2019s current situation, which can alter the SAI. We can then re-evaluate your financial aid eligibility. Once tuition statements are released on your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/business\/students\/support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Texan Bill Pay<\/strong><\/a>, you can then make a payment or enroll in a payment plan. Your tuition will be due\u00a0<strong>7 days<\/strong>\u00a0before your classes start for the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enroll in a payment plan, navigate to Texan Bill Pay by logging into myGateway, selecting Ducktrax, and then selecting Texan Bill Pay. On the black navigation bar at the top of the page, select payment plans, then select \u201cEnroll Now\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: Tarleton offers multiple\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/business\/students\/payment-plans\/\"><strong>payment plan options<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The refund process will begin after\u00a0<strong>2-3 days after financial aid disbursement<\/strong>\u00a0and typically takes\u00a0<strong>3-5\u00a0<\/strong>business days for bank processing. Keep in mind, adding or dropping classes could change\u00a0<strong>your<\/strong>\u00a0refund status and refund amount. You may only use this for the purchase of books and supplies at the Tarleton Bookstore located in Stephenville and you must have a Texan Card. \u00a0The loan must be repaid in full, with interest, during the semester in which the funds were borrowed. \u00a0Learn more about book loans on our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/business\/students\/short-term-and-book-loans\/\"><strong>website<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0The application is available in myGateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A short-term loan can be used to assist you if you are experiencing temporary financial difficulty in connection with educationally related expenses. The loan must be repaid in full, with interest, during the semester in which the funds were borrowed.
