Short-Term Loan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Short Term Loans at Tarleton State University were established to assist students who are experiencing temporary financial difficulty<\/em><\/strong> in paying for educationally related expenses. This loan is an option when the student has money coming from home, financial aid, a paycheck or other sources, but it will not arrive in time to pay the student\u2019s bill. Short-term loans are available for the current term, and applicants must meet the requirements to be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short-term loan program is a loan for tuition, fees, and on campus student housing and will be applied to the first installment of the Installment Payment Option for the current term. The loan must be repaid in full during the same semester<\/strong> in which the funds were borrowed. It carries a 1.25% interest rate<\/strong>. If the loan is not paid by the due date, a $10 late fee<\/strong> will be added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not the intent of this program to supplement or to replace long-term aid or assistance offered by the Office of Financial Aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to submit the Short-Term Loan application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log into your\u00a0myGateway<\/a>\u00a0account<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select\u00a0New DuckTrax Menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Under the Financial Aid menu, select the Short-Term Loan Application<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Fill out the Kuali application<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Select Submit in the top right corner of the application<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Note: The Short-Term Loan application opens 7 days prior to the payment due date and closes one week after the census date for the current term. <\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Book Loan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    A Book Loan is a short-term advance offered by Tarleton State University to help students purchase textbooks and required course materials at the start of the semester. The book loan is up to $1500 and is for use at the Campus Bookstore. This amount is authorized to your Tarleton State Texan Card. The amount used at the Campus Bookstore is charged to your student account for repayment in Texan bill Pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The loan must be repaid in full during the same semester<\/strong> in which the funds were borrowed. It carries a flat $45.00 fee<\/strong>. If the loan is not paid by the due date, a $10 late fee<\/strong> will be added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
