{"id":2615,"date":"2025-11-20T15:13:59","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T15:13:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/finaid\/?page_id=2615"},"modified":"2025-12-05T16:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:27:10","slug":"nursing-students-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/finaid\/nursing-students-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Nursing Students Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Nursing Students Scholarship Program<\/strong><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nursing Students Scholarship Program promotes health care and educational needs by providing scholarships to eligible professional and vocational nursing students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-black-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"background-color:#e1e1e1\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Criteria:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To qualify for a scholarship, a student must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a resident of Texas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be registered with Selective Service, or be exempt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>show financial need from the FAFSA or TASFA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be enrolled in a course of study leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree in professional nursing or one intending to prepare a student for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be enrolled at least half-time; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have made satisfactory academic progress (SAP) in accordance with Tarleton State\u2019s financial aid academic progress requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discontinuation of Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless an extension of eligibility (due to a hardship circumstance) is granted, a student\u2019s eligibility ends:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>when the student has attempted 15 credit hours, or the equivalent, beyond the amount required to complete the degree or certificate program in which the student is enrolled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship Amount<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Maximum scholarship amounts per semester will vary depending on the type of institution the student attends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Institutions eligible to participate in the Toward Excellence, Access, and Success (TEXAS) Grant and Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG) programs may offer scholarships each semester <em>up to the maximum grant amount<\/em> for their respective program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Due to limited funding, institutions will determine award amounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hardship of Provisions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event of a hardship or for other compelling cause, a student who is ineligible to receive the Nursing Students Scholarship may be eligible to receive a scholarship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>while failing to make SAP in accordance with the institution\u2019s financial aid academic progress requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>while enrolled less than half-time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>while enrolled beyond the scholarship receipt limit (relating to Discontinuation of Eligibility)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nursing Students Scholarship Program Overview The Nursing Students Scholarship Program promotes health care and educational needs by providing scholarships to eligible professional and vocational nursing students.
