The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) offers Texas businesses two different options in training grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a style=\"color:#4f2d7f;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none!important\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twc.state.tx.us\/partners\/skills-development-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skills Development Fund (SDF)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-texan-black-color has-text-color\">Grants are available to businesses with over 100 employees to cover their company&#8217;s training needs. The SDF grant targets businesses that require technical and soft skills training. Multiple companies in the same industry can apply together as a consortium with separate training budgets. Here are some quick FAQ&#8217;s about SDF grants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-tarleton-texan-black-color has-text-color\">\n<li>Targeted to businesses without a restriction on the number employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants are 1-year in length from award date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both technical and non-technical training can be included in the grant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only full-time employees are eligible to receive training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training funding is limited to $1,420 per course for each current employee. An employee may take multiple courses that total more than $1,420.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training can be facilitated by Tarleton State University\u2019s Extended Education Program, third-party vendor or by internal company employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training will be customized to meet the specific needs of the client.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training budget is limited to $500,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a style=\"color:#4f2d7f;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none!important\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twc.state.tx.us\/businesses\/skills-small-business-employers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skills for Small Business (SSB)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-texan-black-color has-text-color\">Grants are also available to smaller businesses to cover their training needs as well. SB grants are targeted to businesses that employ less than 100 full-time employees. Here are some quick FAQ&#8217;s about SB grants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-tarleton-texan-black-color has-text-color\">\n<li>Targeted to businesses with under 100 employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants are 1-year in length from award date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both technical and non-technical training can be included in the grant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only full-time employees are eligible to receive training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training funding is limited to $725 for each current employee and $1,450 for each new employee (hired no more than 90 days before award date).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All training must be provide by a public community or technical college or the Texas Engineering Extended Service(TEEX).
