Three (3) years of classroom teaching is required for Educational Diagnosticians admitted after 9\/1\/18.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-column advgb-column advgb-is-two-thirds-tablet advgb-is-full-mobile\" id=\"advgb-col-6e4f93ad-5f5d-4b6d-9b5d-bab61d2ccf58\"><div class=\"advgb-column-inner\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:1px\">\n<p>Instructions for applying for your standard certificate for Counselor, Educational Diagnostician, Reading Specialist, Principal, or Superintendent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/tea.texas.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEA Website<\/a>&nbsp;and click on &#8220;TEAL Login&#8221; at the top. Log in and click on &#8220;View My Educator Certification Account.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have updated your profile information as necessary, choose&nbsp;<strong>\u201cApplications\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;on the left-hand side menu. Then choose&nbsp;<strong>\u201cStandard Certificate Texas Program.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A series of questions will be asked. Please answer the questions honestly. If you have any questions on how to answer, please contact&nbsp;TEA at&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:+15129368400\">512-936-8400<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the application, it will ask for Recommending Entity. <strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong> &#8211; If you do not select the correct entity, we will not be able to process your application. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please choose&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Tarleton State University (University Based)&#8221;<\/strong> if you obtained a new Master&#8217;s or Doctorate Degree as part of your program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please choose <strong>&#8220;Tarleton State University (Alternative)&#8221;<\/strong> if you already held the required degree for your certification when admitted and did not receive an additional one before applying for certification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the end of the application, you will be asked to pay for your certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If Reading Specialist or Principal, you may need to submit a new signed copy of your teacher service record showing at least two (2) years of classroom teaching if your program coordinator does not have it from your application. Educational Diagnosticians admitted after 9\/1\/18 must submit a service record showing three (3) years of classroom teaching.
