Established in 2022, The Mayfield College of Engineering\u2019s $54 million, 98,000 square foot building is full of spaces designed for innovation. Computer-aided design, automation labs and thermo-fluids labs provide students with the ability to work with industry-standard equipment throughout their time at Tarleton State, preparing them with the skills needed to be successful in their specific field. On the upper levels of our three-story building, students will find labs for electronics, prototyping and environmental chemistry, accompanied by computer labs that encourage active in-class participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our degree programs offer high-quality, ABET-accredited education taught by experienced professionals. Our faculty and staff intentionally mentor students by encouraging research opportunities and overseeing competition teams. The Mayfield College of Engineering sponsors over 40 multidisciplinary projects every year, by providing over $140,000 in funding to student-led teams annually. Planning, analyzing and presenting budgets with guidance from faculty and staff allows students to understand the financial side of engineering in a supportive learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past year, Mayfield College of Engineering students have participated in numerous competitions nationwide. The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) won first place overall and top honors in mission performance at the international SAE Aero Design competition. Construction science students traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the National Association of Home Builders Student Competition, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics designed and launched a rocket in preparation for the International Rocket Engineering Competition, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) was selected to host the ASCE Frontier Student Symposium on Tarleton State\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
