Careers in Digital Media

The BS Major in Digital Media Studies balances critical thinking, and communication skills with the technical and visual design skills needed for today's emerging digital fields. Students take a variety of courses at Tarleton that give the appropriate set of skills that prepares students for a variety of careers: from writers and multimedia artists, mobile web developers, and media producers to academics, public service workers, and entrepreneurs.

The skills developed in the program are in demand in the entertainment industry, the film and broadcasting industries, contemporary business, advertising and public relations, electronic publishing, web development, media production, journalism, communications, museum and library science, among many others. According to the Texas Bureau of Labor and Statistics, digital application designers and technicians will be in the top five fastest growing job occupations by 2016.  To see more opportunities, check out the Tarleton Digital Media Blog.
