Master of Education in Educational Administration (Online or On-Campus)
Tarleton State University’s Master of Education in Educational Administration program prepares Texas professionals for K-12 school administration and higher education roles through stimulating coursework and hands-on educational experiences. Courses are offered online to provide flexibility for students, and professors offer optional face-to-face program review sessions.

M.Ed. Degree Program Overview
Tarleton’s Educational Administration M.Ed. degree has the option to be completed completely online. This flexibility is great for working professionals with busy schedules interested in pursuing this 30 credit hour program.
Courses are also offered at Tarleton’s north central Texas campuses in Stephenville, Fort Worth, and Waco. With a career-advancing curriculum, our students learn the essentials of school administration including coursework in leadership, school-community relations, special education, and educational planning. An additional 3 hour principal practicum course is required for students who seek to obtain a Principal Certificate in the state of Texas.

Career Opportunities
Tarleton's Educational Administration degree prepares students for a variety of management roles in K-12 or higher education. Students with a Principal Certification will be qualified to work in school administration positions at all levels, including central office district-level positions.
Principal Certification
Begin the process to become a school principal. Our program prepares students for the TExES Principal Exam, which is one of the requirements for obtaining a Principal Certificate in the State of Texas.

Student Resources and Facilities
Texas Center for Educational Facilities
In 2008, Tarleton State University partnered with a local architectural firm to create the Tarleton Research Laboratory on Educational Facilities (TRLEF). TRLEF provided evidence-based research to public schools regarding the impact of facility design on student learning capacities. In 2010, TRLEF was awarded a grant from the United States Department of Education to develop The American Clearinghouse on Educational Facilities (ACEF). In 2011, TRLEF was renamed the Texas Center for Educational Facilities by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and continues to provide information, training, and technical assistance to public schools.
Effective Schools Project
Originally initiated in 1988, Tarleton State University's Effective Schools Project (ESP) has since evolved into one of the nation's largest school-improvement endeavors. With effective schools research as its foundation, ESP is an education improvement network linking our faculty with campus leadership teams in over 50 Texas schools. Since its inception, ESP has partnered with 216 different public schools and Education Service Centers to provide professional development opportunities for educators.
Cross Timbers School Development Council
The Cross Timbers School Development (CTSD) Council is a non-profit organization designed to serve the needs of its member schools. The CTSD Council serves as a forum for administrators to discuss ideas across the region for over 25 years. Activities of the CTSD Council are guided by a six-member Board of Directors and coordinated by Dr. Mark Weber. The CTSD Council hosts two major conferences each year:
- The Fall Conference is sponsored by the Texas Association of Community Schools and focuses on current issues involving administrators and school districts.
- The Spring Conference is sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards and provides training for school board members in affiliated districts.
