Our Journalism and Broadcasting concentration will provide you with real-world experience and hands-on training that will allow you to compete in an ever-changing field. Taught by media veterans and industry professionals, the carefully sequenced program uses industry best practices and follows the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics in every class.

Program Objectives

  • Teach the investigative skills and hands-on experience that employers demand. 
  • Present opportunities to earn top honors from the Society of Professional Journalism (SPJ), as well as have their work displayed in several Texas newspapers and magazines. 
  • Provide opportunity to work with the Texan News Service and Texan TV News through coursework and internships.
