Overview

Earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree at Tarleton State University, where you will be challenged to strive for excellence and professionalism whether in the classroom, laboratory, clinical agency, or community setting. Upon successful completion of the BSN curriculum, generic and LVN to BSN graduates are eligible to apply for licensure as a registered nurse and to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®). Upon meeting licensure requirements and passing the NCLEX-RN®, the Tarleton BSN graduate will become a BSN RN.

Jump Right In

The BSN program offers a traditional program of study for those students who are not licensed as nurses. Traditional students take pre-admission nursing courses while completing their general education requirements. Upon program admission you will complete the BSN program in 2 years of study. Candidates are admitted in both the fall and spring semester of each year.

Designed With You in Mind

The BSN program has two alternate entry options:

  • The RN to BSN option is recommended for the currently licensed registered nurse who has completed a diploma or an associate degree in nursing is offered in Fort Worth. The traditional BSN option is offered at the main campus in Stephenville. This option admits students twice a year, in both the fall and spring semesters.
  • License Vocational Nurses (LVN) may apply to complete BSN coursework at either the Stephenville or Waco campus. All prerequisite general education course requirements must be completed at the time of application. This option only admits students once a year, in the fall semester.
