Overview
This degree is designed to provide high-quality technical and academic preparation for future engineering technologists. Our primary goal is to produce Engineering Technology graduates who are technologically equipped and highly motivated to successfully compete in the modern workplace. Our program focuses on the applications of computers to solve both complex and common manufacturing problems. Qualified Engineering Technologists are in high demand by manufacturers, and positions offer great monetary compensation. MET graduates from Tarleton State University who choose to stay in the Cross Timbers area will be in a favorable geographical location to take advantage of this explosive growth in the Technical Manufacturing and Engineering industries.

Jump Right In
To prepare for a career in the Manufacturing industry, students will work on numerous real-world manufacturing projects, often in a team setting. A Capstone course will bring together all the concepts learned by applying them to solutions of actual manufacturing problems. Numerous oral and written presentations will aid students in becoming more comfortable and proficient in their communication skills.

Electromagnetic Research Facility

The Electromagnetic Research Facility also includes a state-of-the-art Anechoic Research Chamber.
New Applied Sciences Building
The new Applied Sciences Building will house both classrooms and labs for the Engineering and Engineering Technology programs. In addition, there will be select labs for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The building is projected to open in Fall 2018.
Tarleton Society of Engineering Technology
The Tarleton Society of Engineering Technology is a social, service focused, and professional society with membership open to all students in the Department of Engineering Technology. Members of TSET demonstrate an attitude of professional interest and involvement in the classroom, as well as on the Tarleton campus.
TIDE
The Tarleton Industrial Development and Education Initiative's purpose is to strengthen the economy in local communities while creating, developing, and sustaining small businesses and manufacturers. TIDE offers consulting service and training programs, such as process improvement, to regional manufacturing companies. Through this initiative, we are able to offer valuable opportunities to Tarleton students as they collaborate with faculty and business professionals to address real world problems.
