Texan Debate

Tarleton students participate in the Texan debate.

Tarleton State University and the Department of Communication Studies are proud to continue the Texan Debate. The Texan Debate is on April 13, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center.

This year's motion is: This house moved to enact Senate Bill 8, also known as the heartbeat bill.

In the Spring of 2017, Texan Debate was formed to give Tarleton students a forum to talk about controversial topics that are important in today's society. Even though we will deal with controversial subjects we disagree on, we will learn to do so with civility, respect, and structure. You can watch the Texan Debate on the Tarleton YouTube Channel: Live on YouTube.
