{"id":1942,"date":"2026-05-07T10:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T15:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/colfa\/?p=1942"},"modified":"2026-05-07T11:38:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T16:38:41","slug":"tarleton-public-radio-welcomes-new-development-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/colfa\/2026\/05\/07\/tarleton-public-radio-welcomes-new-development-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Tarleton\u00a0Public Radio Welcomes New Development Director\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tarleton Public Radio, part of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts at Tarleton State University, broadcasts community-supported public radio to the Cross Timbers region while offering hands-on training and work experience for students pursuing careers in broadcasting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The station provides a unique mix of music, news, talk and local programming, including National Public Radio (NPR) programs such as&nbsp;<em>Morning Edition<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>All Things Considered<\/em>, alongside locally produced shows hosted by community talent. KTRL also serves as the official radio home of Tarleton Sports and reaches listeners across a 10-county area, connecting communities throughout North Central Texas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supporting this mission, Robert Shouse joined KTRL 90.5 Tarleton Public Radio as development director in January 2026, bringing with him a background in both higher education and sales.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this role, Shouse spent four years serving as an academic advisor&nbsp;in&nbsp;the Dr. Sam Pack College of Business at Tarleton State,&nbsp;where he worked closely with students and faculty. Before transitioning into academia, he built&nbsp;a long career&nbsp;in sales, including work in radio and newspaper advertising, as well as more than a decade as an insurance agent across Illinois,&nbsp;Minnesota&nbsp;and Texas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his current role at KTRL, Shouse oversees all fundraising and development initiatives, including underwriting sales throughout the surrounding communities.
