This year, the department of government, legal studies, and philosophy is proud to announce the induction of new members into two prestigious honor societies: Pi Sigma Alpha and Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX). Five students were added to the ranks of LEX for legal studies majors, which has been active since 2023, while seven students became charter members of the established Pi Sigma Alpha chapter for political science majors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students inducted into the Lambda Epsilon Chi Society were Brian (David) Parsons, Emma Borchardt, James Wright, Jayclyn Rogers, Melissa Ybarra, and Raylee Williams. The students inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha Society were Madilyn Munn, Leylani Villa-Ramos, Ashton Maitlen, Jodi Clarmont, Hailey Hensley, Maya Kelly, and Anna Doyel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pi Sigma Alpha is a national political science honor society that promotes scholarship and interests in politics, government and democracy. With chapters on nearly 850 campuses and more than 300,000 members inducted nationwide, the organization supports both academic and extracurricular engagement while fostering dialogue and civic involvement. Its members have gone on to become leaders in government, law and public service at the local, state and national levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
LEX is the national honor society for paralegal and legal studies, recognizing students who demonstrate excellence in education and a strong commitment to the ethical and professional standards of the legal field. With chapters across the United States, LEX has honored thousands of students and continues to uphold a legacy of academic distinction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These honor societies hold significant value for Tarleton State students, representing academic excellence, leadership and dedication to their fields.
