The iEngage Summer Civics Institute is scheduled for July 13 – July 17, 2026.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
For just $50 for the full week, campers participate in an engaging, hands-on civics experience that helps them discover how they can make a difference in their schools, neighborhoods, and communities. Scholarships are available to ensure all students have access to the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout the week, campers: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Explore real-world community issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Hear from guest speakers, including local leaders and elected officials<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Participate in age-appropriate civic activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

Working in small groups, students investigate a local issue, identify its root causes, and develop actionable solutions that reflect their ideas and voices.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
Camper Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In addition to civic exploration, campers build leadership skills and gain hands-on experience with civic engagement and digital media literacy. They also participate in interactive iCivics games that make learning both engaging and relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The experience culminates in a community showcase, where students present their projects to family and community members, highlighting what they\u2019ve learned and how they plan to make an impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by the College of Education at Tarleton State University, the iEngage Summer Civics Institute is committed to empowering young people, especially those in rural communities, with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active, informed citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
