Signature Events

We are fortunate once again to host along with Career Services the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and this year, we are even more excited that this year, Dr. Robert S. Kaplan, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will attend to share his insight on the future of our economy.

The College of Business at Tarleton State University seeks to engage the broader community in meaningful ways that promote ethical and socially responsible behavior. To that end, the college hosts and participates in several signature events that help promote these core values of the college.

Federal Reserve Bank Visit

We are fortunate once again to host, along with Career Services, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Conference. This year we are even more excited that Dr. Robert S. Kaplan, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will attend to share his insights on the future of our economy. With student sessions in which employment and internship opportunities are discussed along with interviews to a business round table in which the Fed seeks to gather important regional economic data, sessions target a wide variety of stakeholders. Finally, a banker round table serves as another information gathering session for the Fed to gather important economic data relative to the region.

Research: Advances in Business Research journal/Symposium

The faculty within the College of Business Administration at Tarleton State University recognize the value in creating new knowledge, extending existing theory, and incorporating research into the classroom. Consistent with this, the College, along with the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, co-hosts the Advances in Business Research journal, a journal dedicated to providing "a forum for current thoughts, techniques, theories, issues, trends, and innovations in the business fields, including accounting, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other related fields."

Related to the journal is the Advances in Business Research Symposium. Serving as an outlet for academic, professional, and students to present research, the symposium provides a platform for stakeholders "to participate in the conversation about emerging business ideas and research." Also co-hosted with the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, the symposium alternates back and forth between campuses each year and is typically held in late October/November.
