Vice President and Risk Manager of the TSU SHRM Fort Worth Student Chapter<\/p>

I am grateful to the faculty for providing me with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally while pursuing my studies. Through these engagements, I have met many remarkable students and professionals, and I look forward to maintaining these connections even after I graduate from TSU and transition to Liberty University, where I will pursue a Doctoral degree in Strategic Leadership. To future graduate students, my advice is this: “Always trust in the vision that God places in your heart,” and remember that “anything worth having is worth working for.”<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pursuing Controller position at current company<\/p>

I am currently working towards a position as Controller at the company I work for. Earning my MBA makes me more qualified for this role and better prepared to be a great fit for the job. HR Management was one of my favorite classes. It was interesting, and the professor kept the course very engaging, providing ample encouragement and support to all of us throughout. My main tip for new students would be time management, especially in online classes. I struggled through my first semester trying to balance work, home life, and school assignments. I was able to hone those skills, set priorities, and be organized throughout my remaining semesters to be successful.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pursuing her doctorate after completing her MS-HRM<\/p>

I learned that communication and organization is everything. I enjoyed each class and was happily surprised that through the entire program, I never had a professor I didn\u2019t like. All of them were exceptional in their own ways. Because of my great experience at Tarleton, I have decided after gaining some more experience out in the workforce, I am going to pursue a doctorate with the goal of being a professor who inspires and encourages students to pursue their higher educational goals and be life-long learners Tips for future students: Keep a separate calendar that is singularly assignments and due dates taken straight from the syllabus for each class. Staying organized prevents a lot of stress!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Director of Corporate Relatesion for the TSU Fort Worth Student SHRM Chapter<\/p>

After graduation, I plan to continue to work as an HR professional and I have a goal to start my own HR Consulting business. I served as the Director of Corporate Relations for the TSU Fort Worth Student SHRM Chapter. This leadership role was a pivotal opportunity to cultivate connections and prepare for a future in Human Resources. I encourage active engagement in student organizations to build networks and industry knowledge. My journey exemplifies the transformative power of education, community, and ambition. I have grown so much at my time here in the Tarleton graduate program.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

MS-Information Systems Student<\/p>

I enjoyed working with other students in a collaborative remote setting. Despite the troubles of not having to see each other face-to-face, it\u2019s amazing how much people can come together to achieve goals when faced with the same issues or challenges and the creative ways we brainstorm for solutions together. After graduation I plan to build up my experience. I would prefer to find an opportunity in the digital\/tech industry, however, I\u2019m open to new experiences! Pro tip: Create a GroupMe chat with your classmates! Having a safe space to discuss class questions and woes is a good way to build camaraderie and makes your studying a little easier even when y\u2019all aren\u2019t in the same location.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
