They give us healthy food, clean energy, natural fibers, and other beneficial goods and services. They also aid in the preservation of biodiversity, ecological services, and natural resources.

Tarleton has so far provided me with a high-quality education that combines theory and practice, which prepares me for my future ambitions and aspirations.

I have learned from competent professors with years of expertise who are authorities in their field and have access to cutting-edge resources. In addition, I have participated in conferences, research projects, hands-on learning experiences, and extracurricular activities that have improved my knowledge and abilities. I have developed my capacity for critical thought, effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, I have built a strong foundation in the theories and practices of agriculture and natural resources.

My experience at the recent Aquaponics conference in New Mexico was amazing. I learned a lot from the speakers, vendors, and attendees who shared their insights and experiences on aquaponics. Aquaponics is a sustainable method of growing fish and plants together in a recirculating system that uses less water, land, and energy than conventional agriculture. It is also a great way to produce healthy food for local communities and markets. I was impressed by the innovation of the aquaponics projects that were presented at the conference. Some of the topics that I found most interesting were:

Using Mexican scud for solid waste reduction and nutrient solubilization in Aquaponics system.

Using Aquaponics to combat food insecurity.

Developing Koi feeds for Aquaponics: lessons learned and future research.

Why fish die and best practices to prevent it.

How to use black soldier fly larvae frass as a natural fertilizer to enhance fish and plant production in aquaponic systems.

The Aquaponics conference featured a tour of various aquaponics facilities and institutions, including the Santa Fe Community College Aquaponics facility and other Aquaponics farms in New Mexico.

During the conference, I also took advantage of the networking and social possibilities. I met many wonderful people that share my enthusiasm for aquaponics and agriculture. I made several new acquaintances and contacts with whom I wish to remain in touch. I also had a great time touring the gorgeous city of Albuquerque and its culture.

The Aquaponics conference in New Mexico was one of the finest events of my life. It motivated me to follow my ambition of being an aquaponics farmer and educator. I am glad for the opportunity to attend this conference and am looking forward to the next one.

By: Emmanuel Johnson I have a strong interest for Agriculture and Natural Resources because they are crucial to ensuring both the sustainability of the environment and human well-being.
