<\/figure>Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) started fresh this semester with new officers. ACT is a national organization for college students who want to pursue a future communicating and advocating for the agricultural industry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Alina Rangel is excited for this upcoming year for ACT. Rangel became a member of ACT her sophomore year when she transferred to Tarleton. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a hold on the organization that year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis year my goal with ACT is to get it ramped up again,\u201d Rangel said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACT is meant to prepare students with additional professional workshops that take place in addition to agricultural coursework. Normally they host two meetings a month for members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would like to have two monthly meetings,\u201d Rangel said. \u201cAnd workshops or something of that sort so students feel prepared going into their jobs or careers.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rangel is adamant about making sure her officers and members are prepared for their future after college. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to Rangel, ACT has four other officers: Kyla Moseley is vice president, Alison Chaney is secretary, Tori Elizardo is treasurer, Kyndal King is editor, and Taylor Kennedy is the adviser for the organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACT plans on getting involved on campus. They had a booth set up at the fall carnival on Oct. 18 and a booth set up during the homecoming tailgate to sell raffle tickets for a chance to win a purple cooler full of goodies. Proceeds will be used for ACT activities and workshops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students do not have to be a part of the agricultural college to join ACT, any student can join. The only requirement is students must pay a one-time due to be recognized as a national member.
