Community disaster preparedness is critical to reducing loss of life and property. Nurses are key to preparedness and rapid response during disasters. In conjunction with 9 Community Partners and 14 TSU Departments, the College of Nursing simulated the events 15 minutes after a tornadic event that impacted the community and TSU campus. Over a 3 hour period, approximately 130 patients were triaged and cared for.
