The use of high fidelity simulation, low fidelity simulation, and skills areas allow for an experiential, hands on approach to learning in a highly technological environment. Nursing students are provided the unique opportunity of learning, increasing critical thinking, and providing safe patient care in a safe, realistic, and engaging environment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tamus.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tamus.edu\/\">Texas A&amp;M University System<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/\">Tarleton State University<\/a> and its College of Nursing are committed to providing an academically rigorous education grounded in real-world experience, effective teaching, research, scholarship and service. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/nursing\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/nursing\/\">College of Nursing<\/a> also recognizes the importance of professional development and continuing education for today\u2019s healthcare workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center for Clinical Simulation and Competency (CCSC) supports improved patient outcomes by serving all healthcare professions through specialized training and simulation-based learning. These programs promote individual and interdisciplinary decision-making, clinical competency and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient and community care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"advgb-dyn-834bbdf0\">Located on Tarleton State University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/about\/stephenville-texas\/\">Stephenville campus<\/a>, the CCSC occupies the second floor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/map.tarleton.edu\/?id=302#!m\/71018?s\/\">Nursing Building<\/a> and provides students with access to a modern, immersive clinical learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-texan-white-color has-tarleton-purple-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-416c3599fde5536b2216089aa3884139 is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-texan-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-671924bddc876633229699147efd3c0e\">CCSC Facilities and Learning Spaces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The CCSC features state-of-the-art instructional and simulation spaces, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dedicated didactic classrooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two labor and delivery suites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"advgb-dyn-d8c177b1\">Two medical-surgical nursing units<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A six-bed critical care unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"advgb-dyn-b370f51f\">An assessment laboratory with 10 exam stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An IV practice lab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two 36-seat computer labs for instruction and assessment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students train in a realistic clinical setting with high-fidelity simulated patients capable of emulating human physiology. These advanced simulators can be intubated, defibrillated and palpated and are able to verbally interact with learners, creating authentic clinical scenarios.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation in Healthcare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare is continually evolving, and workforce training must evolve alongside it. Simulation-based education is one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare training and assessment.
