Confidential Information and Security

Some file types are high risk for virus, Trojans, and worms, so you are limited to uploading the following to Cascade CMS: jpg, docx, doc, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pps, ppsx, pdf, txt, zip. You should be very cautious about placing files or links you did not create on your website, and you should never open files in emails from suspicious people or strangers (e.g. hacking attempts).

If you need to password protect your content, determine if content can be placed behind current security walls (e.g. Blackboard, wiki, shared drive). Contact Web Services of content you need secured or content you need hidden from search engines due to internal use. Web Services must be informed in a reasonable amount of time before the content is published in order to prevent accidental access by the public to confidential information.
