Emergency Panel

A very limited module only for Admin use, the module has the ability to appear on the page, typically the homepage, when an emergency notification is sent out. Each Emergency Panel has the following elements:

  1. Display Emergency Message? (REQUIRED)
  2. Content (REQUIRED)

This allows you to play the block at the top of any given page, and when an emergency notification needs to be blasted to the campus, the Display Emergency Message switch can be turned to Yes.

Ideas for Usage

This Emergency Panel is mostly defunct due to a replacement module added to specific websites by the Admins. The new module automatically feeds Code Purple information posted by the Department of Risk Management and Compliance, who turn on/off these notifications as needed without Web Services assistance. They are currently on the Tarleton homepage, location pages, and Current Students page.

We also have an ITS scheduled maintenance calendar on Current Students and Faculty/Staff Resources for outages we know about to our systems.

However, that is not to say that we don’t know of any other emergency notification needs possible.
