Resume Assistance

An effective resume is your key to getting a job interview. Your resume allows you to present your qualifications in an efficient manner, focusing on skills, responsibilities, accomplishments, and leadership. Your challenge is to market your skills in a clear, concise manner, using key words and action verbs to catch the attention of the person reading your resume. The following guidelines are presented to help you begin designing your resume.



Please note: Although all examples are connected to specific majors, we encourage you to look at examples outside of your major or career field as you may find the formatting beneficial.
  • High School to Pre-Professional Resume Examples

  • Chronological Resume: is best if you are staying in the same field or have training/experience related to the objective.

  • Functional Resume: focuses on your skills and experience, rather than on your chronological work history. Great for job seekers with limited work experience; changing career fields; gaps in employment history.

  • Combination Resume: lists skills and related experience first, followed by employment history. Great for job seekers with some work history.
