What is a Sport Club?

Tarleton State University identifies a Collegiate Club Sport as a group of activity fee-paying students, voluntarily organized for furthering their common interests in a physical activity through participation and competition.

Current Sport Clubs at Tarleton

We currently offer the following club sports at Tarleton:

  • Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse
  • Rugby
  • Women’s Volleyball
  • Shotgun Sports
  • Bass Club
  • Powerlifting
  • Men’s and Women’s Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Each club is formed, developed, governed, and administered by the student membership of that particular club in collaboration with the Collegiate Club Sport staff. If you are interested in starting a new Sport Club or for other information contact the Sports Club Coordinator.

How do I Join a Sports Club?

Membership and tryouts are open to all currently enrolled students of Tarleton State University. Each Club Sport athlete must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Potential members must read and sign a release indicating that they understand the risks and responsibilities assumed in participation.
