There are many benefits offered to college students who make the decision during their freshman, sophomore, or junior year to work toward becoming a Marine Officer while earning a college degree. Upon successful completion of all academic requirements at Tarleton State University and Officer Candidates School, students will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PLC Program Training<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-06682422e81f5e14cb284ccb1705c1ed\"><strong>Freshman and sophomore training<\/strong>: The PLC program consists of two paid six-week internship sessions at the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-af2f3bd41d0dcf570f0420b15767f261\"><strong>Junior training<\/strong>: The PLC Program consists of a ten-week paid internship session in Quantico, VA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PLC Benefits and Obligation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c81a5ba5766e15aad4f887a5a41de5a9\">Students in the PLC program can benefit from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a3bdeaa314f0981989bf1fa69af18ac8\">Financial aid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1fc342d6c87bdd6cb72fa41e8cb8bf14\">The Marine Corps Tuition Assistance Program (MCTAP)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7c7a7802e828073e931e67a57ed03221\">Gaining college course credit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c5c88d64da2f62a4e14e34d992560706\">Students who complete all requirements of the PLC Program and accept a commission in the Marine Corps are obligated to serve the period of time specified in their service agreement. Current obligations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6336e458e54b9360af51c6844e545783\">4 years for Non-Aviation Officers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e74f5ebcaa4438fb54d6979922c1f8e1\">6 years for Aviation Officers after completion of Flight School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"information has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-79481b507c45b52c34a0d06d05c43eab\">Students who wish to enter the PLC program must meet the standards in academics, fitness, morals, and ethics.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/cadets\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/275\/2022\/09\/marine-corps-plc-program.pdf\">Read about all requirements for this program.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United States Marine Corps turns to colleges and universities to discover the future leaders of our nation.
