All cadets are require to live in on-campus housing (unless approved for Victor Company or as an exception by the Commandant). You must submit an on-line housing application and deposit to be admitted to Corps housing. If you are not admitted to Corps housing or approved for a wavier you may not be permitted to participate in the Corps of Cadets.

Cadets who meet the following criteria may apply to participate in Victor Company, which enables them to live off-campus. Cadets who meet this criteria will be considered for Victor Company, but approval is not automatic. Living on-campus is considered an integral part of the learning experience of the Corps of Cadets. If you apply for Victor Company, please make sure you have been accepted before you make housing plans.

You may apply to participate in Victor Company if you are:

  • Married
  • 25 years of age or older at the time of entering the JTLA

FOR FALL 2017 ONLY: Any Army ROTC Cadet who is currently enrolled at Tarleton State University, as of August 1, 2017, and is in good academic standing, may be eligible for Victor Company.

The Process

You will be admitted or denied as quickly as possible once your application has been received by JTLA. If you are admitted, you will receive a Corps acceptance packet with more information. If you have applied for Victor Company, please make sure you have been accepted before finalizing housing plans.

Packing List

See the Packing List with all the items you should bring to Cadet Orientation Training. Each residence hall room is provide with a computer Ethernet connection, extra-long twin beds, desks, chairs, dressers, mirrors, closets, and window blinds. The Frequently Asked Questions will also address this and other details.

Freshmen Cadet Move-In

Check-in for Cadet Orientation Training is from 8:00-10:00 am, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Traditions South. As you come on campus there will be Cadets to guide you to park in Lots P45 and P39 which is on the southwest end of Traditions South and Corps area. Leave your personal belongings in your car until are you check-in at the Traditions South Cadet area.

Family and friends are encouraged to participate and help you move in but they will be asked to leave the residence hall no later than 10:30 am on August 16, 2017.

Freshmen March-In

Families and friends are invited to the Freshman March-In scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 26 on Military Drive. Freshmen will be released on Saturday, 26 August, following the Freshman March-In (approximately 10 am) and are free until 2 pm when Cadets will need to return to Wisdom Gym in the Kinesiology Building to rehearse the Freshman Acceptance Ceremony. The Freshman Acceptance Ceremony begins at 6:00 pm.
