Dr. Douglas L. Simon
Academic Background
Dr. Simon holds a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Political Science and History from Southwest Minnesota State University, a master’s degree in Public Administration (M.P.A) from the University of South Dakota, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of South Dakota School of Law, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from South Dakota State University.
Dr. Simon has 25 years of teaching and higher education experience. As a tenured professor, he served in a variety of academic roles and university efforts, to include chair of the Department of Business, member of the university’s steering committee on accreditation, university strategic planning and institutional assessment, and the architect for Southwest Minnesota State University’s Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Simon has lectured and wrote on a variety of academic fields including constitutional law, international law, international relations, business law, public policy, leadership, and organizational theory. Dr. Simon is published in the Military Law Review and the Army Lawyer writing on topics associated with the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
