Getting involved on campus looks different for every student and staff member that steps on Tarleton\u2019s soil. For some, joining clubs or participating in intramural sports can provide the needed access to a network of opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Tarleton Alumna, Kinlie Brennise, being an integral part of a team was what shaped her time at Tarleton State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinlie Brennise, a Craig, Colorado native, began her Texan journey shortly after completing a year at Weatherford College. During her time at Tarleton State, Brennise was a proud member of the Tarleton Rodeo team where she competed in barrel racing, team roping and breakaway roping. Towards the latter part of her time at Tarleton State, she began to focus more on her professional barrel racing career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTarleton has the toughest rodeo program in the region and I knew that was the best way to grow. Tarleton has the best resources and at the time, it was transitioning into being a D1 school so you have to compete with the best to be the best. In addition, the rodeo team is the reason I have all of the connections I have now. It introduced me to new friends as well as helping boost my business\u2019 clientele,\u201d Brennise shared. <\/p>\n<\/div>

In addition to being a highly decorated member of the rodeo team, Kinlie pursued her Bachelor\u2019s in marketing and earned her degree in May of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between her time on the rodeo team and in the classroom, Brennise also found time to open and operate her beauty salon alongside her business partner, Grace Seargeant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located at 2301 Northwest Loop Stephenville, Texas, Luxury Aesthetics offers a variety of services including lash extensions, permanent makeup, lip blushing and a variety of eyebrow services including waxing, laminating and tinting. Luxury Aesthetics opened its doors in March 2021 and has since expanded to meet the needs of its growing clientele.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Despite her many accolades, Brennise shared that her greatest accomplishment to date was finishing college!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cFor me, school was never my strong suit but I love rodeo. I\u2019m proud that I could juggle school, rodeo and my business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many Texans, getting involved can be a game changing experience that opens up a world of opportunities. Whether that means joining a new club, a sports team or simply following your dreams and indulging in passion projects, getting active on campus can provide students with a new outlook on life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhatever you dream for, go after it! Give everything 100% and you will look back and be proud of yourself for what you accomplished,\u201d Kinlie Brennise shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
