Apply to Tarleton

Whether you’re a first-time freshman, a transfer student, or maybe even returning to college. We have broken down the steps for you to apply based on your student type!

First Time In College

Submit your application:

We have two applications to choose from. We don’t have a preference over which one you use! It is important to make sure you only submit one application per admission cycle.

Pay the application fee:

The $50 non-refundable application fee is required for all applicants, regardless of prior acceptance, admission, and/or enrollment in courses at Tarleton. Fee Waivers are available.

  • Electronically through either application
  • Online at Tarleton State University
  • Check or money order by mail to: Box T-0030, Stephenville, Texas 46402

Submit your transcripts:

Students must request that their high school sends their official transcript to us. If you took any dual credit courses, you will need to send the official college transcript to receive credit. If a transcript is sent prior to high school graduation, a final transcript is required after graduation.

Unofficial transcripts, including photocopies of official transcripts will not be accepted. Tarleton does not accept transcripts sent by fax.

Submit additional admissions documents:

There may be other items you need to submit before your application is processed or before you can register for classes. We will be sure to let you know if you do!

You are responsible for sending official transcripts from every institution you have attended. We cannot post dual credit from a high school transcript. Most transcripts can be sent electronically from previous institutions, through the following:
