The Bubble

Paula LeClair

Awakened worlds were not welcome here. I would not let them in for fear of breezes, earthquakes, whispers or snow. And leave you alone in that barred bed where demons or butterflies might go? No! So I hold you all day and savor your sweet sighs, breathing in the hushed night. I close my eyes as we sit it out again while the world races under blazing bright skies, taking our chances that our moon will again rise and grace us with cool kisses keeping secret our disguise.
