A Message from the TAA President

Dear Tarleton Family,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to share with you how humbled and excited I am to serve as the President of the Tarleton Alumni Association. Great things are happening at our beloved university under the leadership of our new president, Dr. James Hurley. What an amazing opportunity to serve as we transition to Division I and grow our programs and alumni base. Dr. Hurley and his wife Kindall bring a lot of energy to Tarleton. There are great things in store!

Tarleton has a very special place in my heart and always will. Like many of you out there, I am the first in my family to graduate from college. Being a first-generation graduate is special, but earning that degree from Tarleton State University makes it even more special. I also met my amazing husband, Cody Lane ‘98, at Tarleton. We bleed purple in our house and are hoping one or both of our daughters will follow suit when they graduate high school.

If you are not already a member of TAA, I encourage you to join us and get involved. 100% of your dues will go towards scholarships for Tarleton students. Over the last six years, we have been able to raise $250,000 in scholarship money. Additionally, we have recently started a legacy scholarship program for children or family members of our Alumni Association members. The TAA is a great way to expand your network group, get involved, and stay in touch with the University and support our future alumni.

Each of us can play an important role in Tarleton State University’s continued success. As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Please consider joining the Tarleton Alumni Association, getting involved, and making a difference in the lives of our future alumni.

On Ye Tarleton,

Ranae Lane ‘99

President, Tarleton Alumni Association
