
High School Equivalency Diploma (GED, HiSET, TASC)
First-time freshman who did not graduate from high school and have a high school equivalency diploma.
What You Need to Apply

- Applicant type: U.S. Freshman
- $50 application fee
- Official GED, HiSET or TASC test scores (please send the test scores to [email protected])
- Official SAT or ACT test scores (optional and only valid for 6 years from test date)
- Any other items requested by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions based on application answers
Effective Spring 2020 forward: Official SAT and ACT test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. Tarleton will not accept test scores from the high school. Tarleton’s SAT code is 6817. Tarleton’s ACT code is 4204.
Freshmen Admissions Requirements
Your admission decision will be evaluated based on your Equivalency test and SAT/ACT Test scores. Tarleton State University accepts equivalency scores from GED, HiSET, and TASC.
Equivalency Test Score Requirements

Old SAT total consists of Critical Reading (Verbal) + Math only. New SAT total (March 2016 forward) consists of Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math. The writing component can be submitted but it is not required.
Applicants not meeting requirements for guaranteed admission may be reviewed on an individual basis.
