Taking the CLMPE

You may take the College Level Math Placement Exam (CLMPE) in one of three ways.

  1. You may take the exam at Tarleton’s Stephenville campus.  To schedule the exam at the Stephenville campus, please go to Exam Registration.  If you have any questions please call (254) 968-9423.  The exam is free and there is no additional fee for Tarleton to proctor the exam.  For step-by-step instructions please go to scheduling the CLMPE for the Stephenville Campus.
  2. You may take the exam at Tarleton's Fort Worth campus.  For step-by-step instructions please go to scheduling the CLMPE for the Fort Worth Campus.
  3. If it is more convenient for you, you may request to take the exam at your high school or at a university or college near you.  The proctor (person administering and supervising your exam) must be a professional test center administrator or a credentialed High School Academic Counselor.  You will need to ask your high school counselor if they will proctor your exam before you have your prospective proctor complete a Remote Proctor Authorization Form and return it to us, as noted on the form.  If approved, your proctor will be sent information regarding how to access and administer the CLMPE.  It is a very easy process for the proctor.  It is administered through the same platform (webpage) as the TSI, which your school counselor may be familiar with.  There is no fee for the exam; however, in some cases, the proctor may charge you a fee to administer the exam.  For step-by-step instructions please go to scheduling the CLMPE for Remote Proctor.
    1. Some colleges or universities may ask you for a voucher.  For step-by-step instructions please go to scheduling the CLMPE for a Voucher.
  4. You may take the exam in the comfort of your home if you have an audio/video webcam that meets the specifications of this test.  The test will be proctored by B Virtual and there is a $25 fee payable to B Virtual.  For step-by-step instructions please go to scheduling the CLMPE for B-Virtual.
