Student Social Work Association

The purpose of the Student Social Work Association is to work toward the greater good of the Tarleton campus community and the local community. SSWA is an active organization that conducts fundraising for nonprofit agencies and charities, as well as encourages volunteering for community groups. As funding permits, members attend the Annual Social Work Conference.

Zeta Chapter, Phi Alpha Honor Society

The purposes of the Phi Alpha Honor Society are to provide a closer bond among Social Work students and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high education standards and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in both scholarship and achievement in Social Work.

Membership Requirements

  • A Social Work Major at Tarleton State University
  • Must have attained a Junior or Senior status
  • Must have completed at least 9 semester hours of required Social Work courses
  • Must have and maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Must have and maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher in required Social Work courses

Once students have met these requirements, they will be inducted.
