"Make the most of the opportunities afforded..." - Dr. Cindy Edwards
Dr. Cindy Edwards
Dr. Cindy Edwards graduated from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2007 and is now the Superintendent for Lipan ISD.
What was the most valuable lesson you learned -inside or outside the classroom- while at Tarleton?
Edwards: "The Tarleton Doctoral Program taught me the value of a professional learning community. The friendships established through the program will last a lifetime."
When you think about the future, how do you see Tarleton alumni and students helping to shape the future?
Edwards: "Tarleton State University has and will continue to play an integral role in shaping the lives of hundreds of thousands of children throughout the state of Texas by producing quality educators."
What advice do you have for students in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies here at Tarleton?
Edwards: "Make the most of the opportunities afforded through the programs offered in your field of study. Education is not simply about seat time. You get out of the education experience what you put into it. Make the effort to develop personal and professional connections. You never know when you may need the encouragement or the expertise of those who are around you. Enjoy it!"
